Door County
Door County is one of, if not our favorite, places to visit during the Summer/Fall months. We guess we’re biased because it’s where many of our friends and family live, and most importantly our grandchildren. Ok ok, it’s the grandchildren. 🥰 But seriously, if you love water activities, arts, food, festivals, music and so much more, this is a great place to visit. Go to our Door County Playlist on YouTube to learn more about the area.
Fun Fact: Door County is the only county in the country that is completely surrounded by water!
Where We Stayed
Campground Review
Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort
3668 Grondin Rd, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235
This is the place we’ve called home for the summer months. It's a beautiful park that offers large spots for camping within the trees or in the sun if you prefer. There is a limited number of full hook-up sites that come at a higher price. All the other sites are electric and water with a dump station. We’re able to get Ms. Coach into the park with ease. Most sites are very level. The facilities are clean and the whole park is well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We've had friends stay at the cottages, we hear they’re nice. They are right next door to Potawatomi State Park. Simply jump on your bikes or go for a hike. You are close to all the DC action, yet away from all the tourist if you want to be. Weekends are much busier than weekdays. There is plenty to do with weekend activities and a nice pool and kiddie pool as well. Book early if you can, this place can fill up fast in the summer months. Go to our Door County Playlist on YouTube to learn more about the area. We stay at this park for a few months at a time. We utilize our Thousand Trails Membership for part of it, then pay $1,000.00+ per month thereafter. This is for a full-hook up site. This park is limited on full hook-up sites, so book as early as you can.

There are endless things to do in Door County. Spend a day in Sturgeon Bay, take a drive-up Hwy 42 following the Bay of Green Bay, head back on Hwy 57 along Lake Michigan and visit all the small towns along the way like Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Bailey's Harbor, Jacksonport and so many more. Visit the four State Parks and all the beaches along the way. Rent a fishing charter, go kayaking, biking, rent a pontoon. The list goes on and on! Check out these handpicked videos below:

Grocery Shopping
Healthy Way Market
3668 Grondin Rd, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235
“We're so excited about the expansion of HW! So thankful for all the wonderful produce (many local items) & other healthy grocery items including a bulk herb and seasoning section. It's now our main store while in Sturgeon Bay. Only thing they need now is a RO water system for filling our water bottles and it would be our only store. The staff is very helpful & friendly. Keep up the great progress!"
